Lock and Load Video Analysis

21st Century Baseball and Softball Hitting Instruction

  • Lock and Load Video Analysis uses Right View Pro video System. The ONLY system licensed to use MLB players.
  • Video is an underutilized tool for improved mechanics.
  • Seeing is believing! Don’t just hear how the lesson went, see how it went and replay it as many times as you like.
  • Your swing pictured next to your favorite player.

Process

Baseball and Softball players simply come down to Universal Sports Academy, Martinez to be filmed. Hitters take 3-5 swings to capture the film and upload to the Video System for analysis. The video, with analysis, and picture strip will then be emailed to you within in 72 hours.

Picture Strips

A frame-by-frame picture of your swing or delivery compared to an MLB All-Star of your choice (from the list below)  See Example Below

Lesson Segments

This is an audio and visual analysis of your mechanics compared to an MLB All-Star swing.  We will draw on the video so you can follow what the audio feedback is providing.  The video will provide feedback on the problem areas of your mechanics, and what should be fixed first.  These are not only helpful to the player, but also to their parent and coaches.  In addition, if you are doing the Grand Slam package, we can compare to your previous videos and track improvement. See Example Below

Personalized Drills (Grand Slam Package Only)

An emailed set of personalized drills is also included in the Grand Slam package.  These are video demonstrations of drills with an explanation of technique and purpose.  Using the information from the analysis of each player’s video, we match up the most useful drills for that player to improve their swing.  These can also be useful to the player’s parent or coaches.

Lock & Load Video Analysis Bio's

JUSTIN SANTICH-HUGHES

Justin Santich-Hughes, the native of Castro Valley, Calif., is a 2003 graduate of Castro Valley High School, where he lettered three years in baseball. An all-league selection, Santich-Hughes batted .361 as a senior, with three home runs and 30 RBI, helping his team to the North Coast Section semifinals with a school-record 26 wins. After graduating Castro Valley High School, Santich-Hughes was recruited to play baseball at then a top 10 baseball program in the country and recent College World Series participant San Jose State University.

Santich-Hughes concluded his collegiate eligibility in 2007 following an exemplary four-year career for the Spartans behind the plate. The defensive stalwart posted a fielding percentage of .988 over four years, with nine errors in 732 chances, and finished with career-best totals offensively as a senior in batting average (.280), at-bats (125), runs (19), hits (35), doubles (5), runs batted in (21), walks (10) and hit-by-pitches (11), starting 45 of 51 games. His team-best 11 sacrifices moved him up to third on the all-time Spartan list with 35.

Santich-Hughes was promoted to interim pitching coach at San Jose State University to begin the 2008 season. That year the Spartan pitching staff was second in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in Earned Run Average behind the College World Series Champion Fresno State Bulldogs. They were also ranked first in the least amount of runs given up, earned runs given up, walks allowed, extra base hits given up, and second in batters struck out looking. Santich-Hughes also coached two individuals who finished ranked in the top 5 of conference in ERA (Max Peterson 3.69 and Scott Sobczak 3.96). Peterson was selected the All-WAC second team as a sophomore. Santich-Hughes, a two-time Academic All-WAC honoree and three-time San Jose State University Scholar-Athlete, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history in May of 2008.

After one season as pitching coach at Cal State Monterey Bay, Santich-Hughes decided to attend graduate school and at the same time applied to Head Varsity Coach job at Acalanes High School for the 2010 season where he has coached ever since. In his first year at Acalanes, the Dons returned to the NCS playoffs for the first time since 2007 and have since won 4 NCS titles (2011,2012,2013,2016) in his eight seasons at the helm. Acalanes has also become one of the premiere programs for player development sending 33 players to play collegiately with 19 of those being at the Division 1 Level.

PAUL BIEKER

Coach Paul Bieker has an extensive background coaching both baseball and softball. After a successful playing career in Baltimore, Maryland coach Bieker moved to California where he quickly established himself as a formidable baseball coach and instructor. He coached his niece in softball for 2 years, then moving into coaching competitive baseball. Since 2008 coach Bieker has been active on the coaching scene guiding his travel teams to be twice ranked in the top 5 nationally of the USSA rankings. In 2013 Coach Bieker decided to challenge himself with a bigger task and older age group as he applied for and was immediately hired as the new head JV coach at Acalanes High school in Lafayette.

Since taking over as JV coach at Acalanes, Coach Bieker has been a key piece in the development of players who would go on to win multiple league titles and an NCS title at the varsity level. After his tremendous success managing the team, as well as fostering the individual careers of many of his players, Coach Bieker was promoted to Hitting director and video coordinator for the entire AcalanesBaseball program
